What is the Teaching Strategy Gold assessment? ›

Teaching Strategies GOLD is an authentic, ongoing observational system for assessing children from birth through kindergarten. It helps teachers to observe children in the context of every day experiences, which is an effective way to learn what they know and can do.

Practice or Policy: Overall the findings suggest that the Teaching Strategies GOLD® is a viable observation-based, authentic assessment measure and is equally valid and reliable for children with disabilities and for those whose home language is not English.
